Good thing only an upgrade memory is needed for my laptop that crashed

Posted on February 19th, 2011 by admin  |  No Comments »

It really sucks that my computer had to crash this time in the middle of a project I am doing, and it would be bad if my data would be lost. I had it immediately checked out in the local computer store and when they did diagnostics, I was glad to hear that it seems only the RAM was corrupted, for some unknown reason, it gave up and got fried I think. So now all I needed was an Upgrade Memory for this one to get it working again as the tech told me that it could be possible that the memory was overworked maybe due to some application that I installed that used too much memory when I ran it, and hereby overworking it. So a bigger DDR3 RAM would be more sufficient to install this time as a precaution. I believed what the technician said as I also noticed that my laptop was much slower these past few months leading to the event where it finally crashed, so I had to secure a bigger memory this time, and I got it from this site called memoryupgrade.pro, and had it installed there. So now good thing no data was lost in my work, and I can now run this laptop more efficiently and faster thanks to the upgrade. Hopefully no more problems will arise as I really need to finish this project in time or my boss will really give it to me hard again.

The choice of a http://www.webhostingfan.com. service provider is never easy when you consider your requirements and the many packages that they have to offer. Then come the issues of security, reliability and sticking to promises made. How do you differentiate between which webhosting service provider is authentic and which one is trying to just lure you with offers that may never be fulfilled?
Webhostingfan.com solved this problem for me when I wanted a webhosting service provider to host my personal website. Microblogging

Posted on December 4th, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

I wanted to create a microblog. For those who do not know, micro blogging is about the same with blogging but from what you can guess from the name, it’s actually smaller in size, more to the point, and also smaller in file size. A microblog entry or post in general must not be bigger than a short sentence, a simple image or an embedded video, if it wants to be called a microblog. Commercial microblogs also exist that promote websites, services and products; but I wasn’t interested in that. What amazed me in microblogging was the speed of the real-time updating of the news, especially when in real time crisis situations. In these situations microblogging is extremely useful
So I visited web hosting guide and saw the offers for blogging services, the tools that webhostinghub provides and I got convinced to select it as the webhost for my microblog. I began with WordPress as it was the first attempt of mine to start a blog, and now I am considering to upgrade to b2evolution and run multiple microblogs, about different topics, since now I have the knowledge. Other services include Full money back Guarantee within 90 days, Unlimited disk space and bandwidth (the most basic), Advanced security, Standard share hosting features, Easy to comprehend email functionality and the website builder.

Android app developers are sure gonna be the future

Posted on August 30th, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

When I first heard all about android applications, the first thing that came to mind was robots like the cyborgs and android stuff. But a clear explanation by an friend who was also into these things sure helped me understand this one better. I learned that these android apps are the ones being used in the mobile phone systems which I really need to learn also as I am into programming and I know these applications are what is the in thing these days and you can really earn a lot if you can create a good program or android app. In fact I have seen news that android app developers are now one of the most in demand developers as mobile and iphones are certainly fast becoming a necessity for almost everyone these days. These phones really is a complete package from a mobile device to an internet computer to an organizer and even a multimedia device at a single click. And since these android app developers are the ones responsible for such programs, then demand will certainly not decrease with time and we can really predict that in the future, these applications will really spell the success of most of these phones as the better your android app is, the more sure you are to expect that this will be the thing the future will be looking at. And If you don’t believe me, then you can just watch and observe how things will unfold in the near future.

Subscribing to satellite radio

Posted on July 18th, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

Before I get started, let me point out that there are two satellite radio providers in the US; Sirius (www.sirius.com) and XM (www.xmradio.com). After investigating both companies, viewing their channel line-ups, researching the equipment, and talking to subscribers of both services, I chose to go with XM. So, the point of view I am offering is that of a very happy XM Radio subscriber.

As a blind person, I have always enjoyed radio more than I have TV. In fact, I considered radio broadcasting as a career option from the time I was a child, until I finished college and ended up working in the public library system here in Seattle. Having been an avid radio listener all of my life, I have found "commercial" radio (the AM and FM bands) to be increasingly boring and stale. Also, I’ll admit, I got tired of hearing eighteen minutes of commercials, sometimes more during morning drive (6:00 to 10:00 AM).

Having heard ads for both satellite radio providers, I decided to take a look and see what they had to offer. Here is why I chose, and continue to stick with XM Satellite Radio:

They provide close to seventy Read the rest of this entry »

Product reviews: Pure Digital One DAB radio

Posted on July 15th, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

During the pre Christmas shopping of 2007, as I was browsing the shops for inspiration regarding an unexpected present for my husband, I spotted the range of DAB radios in Currys. Speaking to the assistant he told me that some of the more expensive DAB radios actually did not produce any better sound than the less pricey, and less elegant looking, ones. With his advice in mind I decided to go for the Pure Digital One Radio which was priced at just under fifty English pounds and hoped that it would fit the bill.

This radio was available in either white or black plastic. I decided that the black would probably be more serviceable as white plastic often yellows with time and the white one looked a little tacky. The black was a shiny black that did look and feel rather lightweight and was a bit too plastic looking also, if you know what I mean. Still four months down the road this radio has been worth it’s weight in gold. I suppose that is not a good comparison though as it is so light, but you know what I mean.

Initially it seemed a little complicated to get going, however this Read the rest of this entry »

Product reviews: P360 wind up radio

Posted on June 21st, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

I live in the middle of the country and sometimes go for picnics and spend a lot of time in the forest. One thing I really do enjoy is to be able to listen to music and up until I got this radio, my Walkman was enough, although sometimes with the local radio here, it gives you a chance to listen to new music and I bought this radio as an alternative. I actually do not enjoy imposing my sound on other people, and here the radio has the answer as most radios do these days, by having a little socket for a headset.

This is an FM/AM radio and you have the choice of colors, a nice Turquoise like mine, Pink or Grey.

SO WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS ONE ?

Compared to normal radio, this one comes into its own because it is solar powered ! Not only that but it has a nifty little gadget at the back which converts stored energy into electricity simply by turning the handle.

They actually put a lot of thought into this radio because there is a solar panel to capture energy and the wind up handle turns either to the right or the Read the rest of this entry »

Worry Free Websites

Posted on June 7th, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

When we create projects, presentations, and websites, we could only work from one computer. This one computer has all the programs needed for a certain project. This explains why people used to work overtime at the office just to be able to finish most of the project. These days though, with the Internet and devices, people are able to work from different locations. Laptops could now store bigger files that could accommodate heavy programs or software applications that can be used for the projects. The Internet also has played its part in making the world a smaller place. People are now able to exchange messages, ideas, and files online through emails, chat, online FTPs and, online drives. The Internet and its website builders have also been developing more simple and efficient ways to create websites, and all sorts of Flash website content. Most of these offer online free websites building capabilities. These means individuals who want to have free websites
or at least affordable ones for business no longer have to just stay at the office. They can just go wherever they want with their laptop, secure a stable internet connection, and log on to an online website builder. Individuals can just do their work at home or at a coffee shop whenever they want it. One good online website builder is Wix.com. Wix.com is a good website to try. This is frequented by novice website builders because of Wix’s easy to use drag and drop website builder and it is only one of a few providers that can help individuals create Flash websites for personal use or even business news.

Tips for improving am radio reception

Posted on January 30th, 2010 by admin  |  No Comments »

If you’re far away from your favorite AM station, or there are a lot of obstructions between you and it, you probably get a lot of interference. Station fade-outs and bursts of static make it practically impossible to follow an interesting news story or enjoy your favorite tunes. Here are a few suggestions that can help you enjoy your favorite AM station more than ever.

-Gradually turn the radio through a full 360 degrees. If the interference is marginal, getting your radio pointed in just the right direction can make a big difference. Portable radios usually have an internal AM antenna running along the length of the radio. The AM antenna receives signals best from the front or back of the radio, while it generally will get poor reception from the sides. So your best bet is to aim the radio at your station, or conversely to point its sides toward any sources of interference.

-If your radio has an external AM antenna, try setting your radio against a wall and prop the antenna so that it’s touching the wall. If you park your radio in just the right spot, the wires and metal in your building can actually act as an Read the rest of this entry »
