Three New DAB Radios To Tempt You Away From FM

DAB radios give you a far superior audio quality, make it easier to find the station you are after and even offer pause and rewind features. This article is an objective review of three of the latest radios launched in the UK.

Revo Technologies has announced the launch of the first one-box DAB and DAB plus and internet radio to include full iPod docking functionality in the world.

The iBLIK RadioStation, with a bold, contemporary design, will be sold via Apple as well as online and features full DAB and DAB plus digital radio reception, FM radio coverage with RDS, Wi-Fi internet radio, MP3 media streaming from PC or Mac, full electronic alarm clock features and iPod docking station functionality.

The multi-tasking device, described by the company as the ultimate digital radio device will cost 179.95 GBP and will be on sale in the UK from 18 August.

Following on from the launch of the black high gloss retro DAB radio, Bush has launched a red version, the TR04DABRED. In luscious new lip gloss red, Bush says the sexy touch screen sensitive control panel has an instant wow factor.

Product reviews: Pure Digital One DAB radio

During the pre Christmas shopping of 2007, as I was browsing the shops for inspiration regarding an unexpected present for my husband, I spotted the range of DAB radios in Currys. Speaking to the assistant he told me that some of the more expensive DAB radios actually did not produce any better sound than the less pricey, and less elegant looking, ones. With his advice in mind I decided to go for the Pure Digital One Radio which was priced at just under fifty English pounds and hoped that it would fit the bill.

This radio was available in either white or black plastic. I decided that the black would probably be more serviceable as white plastic often yellows with time and the white one looked a little tacky. The black was a shiny black that did look and feel rather lightweight and was a bit too plastic looking also, if you know what I mean. Still four months down the road this radio has been worth it’s weight in gold. I suppose that is not a good comparison though as it is so light, but you know what I mean.
